Education Programme

More than 50 children were mentored and imparted with knowledge by the teachers at the Ngamwaza. Many children from disadvantaged families were lagging behind in basic literacy and numerical skills, without early intervention and by lacking the essentials they could not fully participate in class work. ‘’Without the skills they need to keep up in class, these students can fall even further behind, making it more difficult for them to stay engaged and motivated at school’’ says  Lydiah.

Thanks to Helping Hand there has been improvement in class work, in reading and writing of the assignments and excellent performance in exams. We honestly hope supporting a child’s education is the best way to help break the cycle of poverty in Ongata Rongai. By giving needy and vulnerable children the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential, our impact will have a lasting effect on those we help today, and for generations to come. Education is an equalizer and the sustainable panacea to the inimical social stratification.

We are grateful to the thousands of caring Swedish who support the work we do in educating the needy and vulnerable through the Helping Hand in Ongata Rongai, Kenya. Without your generosity, our work in Ongata Rongai wouldn’t have been possible.

You can provide a child with essential school paraphernalia, a new uniform, shoes, handkerchief, playing marts and stationery for seamless life-changing learning support, so they can fully integrate and catch up with their peers. Your support will be invaluable to these children.
